Maps, parking & public transport

Glasgow Crematorium is often known locally as Maryhill, Lambhill or Cadder Crematorium.

We kindly ask all visitors to park with care and consideration for others visiting the Crematorium and the Western Necropolis. Your thoughtfulness helps ensure that everyone arriving for a service or quiet visit feels supported and respected.

Although we have two car parks available, these can become busy at certain times. To help keep the grounds safe and accessible, we would be grateful if you could please avoid parking at the cemetery gates, on narrow roads, or on grass verges within the surrounding cemeteries. Choosing suitable parking spaces helps maintain a calm atmosphere and prevents any added stress for other mourners. If the Old Chapel car park is full, the New Chapel car park may be used whenever a service is not taking place there. This can offer a convenient alternative during peak periods.

To ease congestion further, visitors to the New Chapel may also find it helpful to use the St Kentigern’s gate on Tresta Road. Exiting via the rear of the New Chapel lane and turning left onto Skirsa Street and then Balmore Road can also help reduce traffic at the main Western Necropolis gate, which remains the preferred entrance for those attending the Old Chapel.

We very much appreciate your cooperation and your care for others using the grounds. Your support makes a meaningful difference to everyone visiting Glasgow Crematorium.
